
Founders Kevin and Julia Hartz flew in from the company’s headquarters in San Francisco to host the evening celebrating 85,000 UK events which have been ticketed on the Eventbrite website in the last year.
This figure represents more than half of the overall UK total events posted on Eventbrite in the last seven years.
Guests were able to sample ales from the Wandsworth Beer festival, as well as enjoy bubbles from Champagne Jayne. Tapas was provided by Marlene Food Styling, alongside sushi from Rachel’s Kitchen, and sweet treats were created by Kath’s Cakes.
Other highlights of the evening included the Estilo string quartet and a photobooth provided by Fotopod. The Eventbrite team was also on hand to give advice at the Brite surgery.
Kevin Hartz, who is also Eventbrite’s chief executive, said: "London has always been a really important city for us so it’s great to be here to meet so many people that use the platform as part of their business. The growth in London and around the UK has been phenomenal over the last year."
He added 38% of UK events placed on the Eventbrite website in the last 12 months have been hosted in the capital.
The company revealed that it is seeing a growing proportion of events taking place in Edinburgh, Manchester, Glasgow, Bristol, Birmingham and Cambridge.
Eventbrite’s UK arm has seen a more than 110% increase in the number of tickets sold from 2011 to 2012, with London in the company’s top three cities global behind San Francisco and New York.
