Taking place across two days at the National Centre for Circus Arts in north London, the experiential event was inspired by the theme of ‘Onwards & Upwards’. Guests were taken through an immersive journey over the course of the evening themed around the trainline’s destination stops.
After a champagne reception, staff arrived at ‘Platform One’, the main space of the venue. Décor had been designed to represent the theme of a busy station, with a large glowing clock with pendulum and a departures board. A busker then appeared on stage and, abetted by sound effects of a train arriving, announced the party would travel to a new station.
Projection mapping supplier Projection Artworks created a window projection on the side walls of the venue to give the illusion of travelling by train. Throughout the night, guests were transported to Marseilles, Amsterdam, Paris, Brussels, Lille and London, with different entertainers such as roaming actors, an illusionist and hip-hop dancers entering the room to create the ambience of each town.
The evening’s finale saw a Eurostar film play to the audience before a confetti canon marked the end of the party. Bowl food was provided by The Recipe.
Luisa Caro, commercial director of Wonderland Events, told Event: "Eurostar is a fantastic client as its team really thinks outside the box in terms of creativity. Wonderland were given a relatively free reign to develop and evolve ideas.
"The 'Onwards & Upwards' concept was a resounding success and encapsulated both the celebration of Eurostar's unique heritage and exploration into the company's exciting future."
