Passers-by were surprised by the giant models of Red, Chuck and Bomb, who clocks in at six-foot tall.

The birds will now be moved to Madame Tussauds in London for the film's digital experience, which opens on 7 May and will run until July.

The experience will see the film bought to life in 3D, using animation and smart technology.

Visitors will be able to interact with the characters both digitally and physically. Organisers say it will also involve them using their mobiles too.

Following the experience's closure in the summer it will visit other Madame Tussauds attractions around the world.

The London venue already houses the Marvel Super Heroes 4D movie experience and a Star Wars attraction. From 24 May it will ahead of the upcoming cinematic release, Warcraft.

The Angry Birds Movie, which is voiced by actors including Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad and Danny McBride, is due to be released on 13 May.
