Kimbolton Fireworks, provider of all the fireworks for the London New Year's Eve celebrations, launched explosions from the top of Big Ben for the first time on 31 December.

Brand experience agency Jack Morton Worldwide produced the New Year's Eve display on the banks of the Thames for the .

More than 200,000 people lined the banks of the Thames to experience the spectacle, which lasted 11 minutes and 15 seconds. It was synchronised and triggered by GPS to Big Bens Chimes.

BBC Radio 1 DJ Nihal collaborated with the Jack Morton team on the soundtrack that accompanied the display.

London’s NYE fireworks in numbers:

12,000 fireworks producing 50,000 projectiles

5,500 fireworks cues

2,000 lighting cues

30 tonnes of equipment on the three fireworks barges

1,803 crew, including stewards

10,204 meters of barriers over 140 barriers points

17,000 meters of mains cabling

5,000 meters of sound cabling

200 line-array loud speakers
