The awards took place at The Royal Opera House. They were organised by Timebased Events, the agency behind the event since it began in 1998. Winners in the celebration of all things male included Dermot O'Leary, Bradley Wiggins and Michael Fassbender.

Company of Cooks produced a champagne reception, dinner and after show party for the awards.

The menu included scallop ceviche with parsley and lemon oil, wild mushroom tarte fine, roast cod with broad bean relish and samphire, and a rhubarb and candied fennel trifle to finish. Guests were served in record time, allowing the ceremony to start on cue.

The evening ended with a parade of the athletes in attendance, recognising the achievements of Great Britain's sportsmen and women in the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
