Phones4U marketing director exits

In a statement, Phones4U said that Slater was leaving this month but did not provide further details. The company confirmed that it was looking for a replacement.

Phones4U was last year voted the fifth most irritating ad in Marketing's annual poll. Slater defended the WCRS-created campaign saying that it was 'a privilege and an honour to do so well in this poll' and that research from Millward Brown demonstrated that the chain had the highest brand communication awareness of any mobile retailer among its target 16- to 34-year-old audience

Slater joined Phones4U from Sunderland Football Club where he was them club's first marketing director. He has previously worked at United Distillers and Vintners.
