Perfect Fools develops game for BBC's Survivors

LONDON - The BBC has launched an online game, created by digital agency Perfect Fools, to support its post-apocalyptic drama series 'Survivors'.

The game, created in Adobe Flash, centres on confronting visitors with real choices based on the central themes of the series and what type of survivor each visitor turns out to be, just like the characters in the series.

The 'Survivors' game mixes rich live action video, dynamic motion design, still images, music, atmospheric sound and smart technology to create a vivid online experience.

The site mirrors each episode and extends the entertainment experience for viewers while aiming to attract new viewers. It also provides a multi-linear storytelling space that builds directly on the central characters and themes presented in the series.

Patrick Gardner, co-founder and partner at Perfect Fools, said: "For Survivors enthusiasts, Survivors Interactive delivers substantial additional entertainment. It has been fascinating to see how the audience identifies with the lead characters, and what thought-provoking comments they make about the characters' choices and actions, all in real-time."

Survivors is set in the aftermath of a devastating virus that wipes out most of the world's population. Each week the characters battle with pressures and choices that determines their future and that of their fellow survivors.
