Pepsi Twist gets sampling boost

LONDON - Pepsi is following up the launch of Pepsi Twist, its fizzy drink with a hint of lemon, with a nationwide sampling and door-drop campaign to boost sales in the run-up to Christmas.

Starting next Monday, sampling teams will be visiting the UK's major shopping centres on branded scooters pulling refrigerator trailers full of Pepsi Twist samples.

The scooter drivers, wearing Pepsi Twist uniforms and helmets, will hand out 150ml cans of the drink and 30p-off coupons for two litre bottles outside supermarkets and in town centres.

The door drop, developed by below-the-line agency KLP Euro RSCG, will see money-off coupons distributed to 4m homes to raise further awareness and trial of the brand.

The push, devised by Pepsi Twist's UK distributor Britvic, coincides with the introduction of Christmas-themed packaging on two litre bottles and multipacks of 330ml can across the range of Pepsi regular, Diet Pepsi and Pepsi Max variants, which went on sale last week.
