Pepsi hires Playboy marketer Kristin Patrick as CMO

PepsiCo has appointed Kristin Patrick, Playboy's top marketer, as global chief marketing officer of its flagship soda brand.

Patrick will be tasked with driving Pepsi's global positioning, consistency and innovation in the newly created role from today (3 June).

She will report into Brad Jakeman, president of the global beverages group at PepsiCo.

In March, PepsiCo announced Salman Amin, its chief marketing officer, was leaving the company for S.C. Johnson, to become chief operating officer.

Amin was responsible for the marketing of all Pepsi-owned brands, which include Gatorade and Frito-lay, and was behind Pepsi’s 'Live for Now' activity, the brand’s first-ever global marketing campaign.

Amin was also behind the $50m deal to sign Beyonce as a Pepsi brand ambassador.

Patrick spent almost two years as chief marketing officer at Playboy. Prior to that she held positions including vice president of strategy and innovation at Gap and vice president at Revlon. She also launched the CK brand at Calvin Klein.
