Pearl & Dean wins Bloom cinemas

Pearl & Dean has clinched the screen advertising rights for the Bloom independent cinemas, otherwise known as 'Screen cinemas'.

The win covers 11 screens across seven sites, including Islington's popular Screen on the Green, and the Belsize Park Screen on the Hill, both in London. The others are at Baker Street, Winchester, and the Surrey towns of Oxted, Reigate, and Walton-on-Thames.

Aiming to bridge the gap between mainstream and art house cinema, the company has a policy for each cinema to be individually programmed for its local audience.

Howard Warren, business development director, said: "This is an important win for us and we are delighted to be working with an independent chain that prides itself on screening a side variety of product and delivers an affluent audience to cinema advertisers."

Pearl & Dean's contract with Bloom kicks off in mid-December this year. The company, which is owned by Scottish Media Group, has a 40% market share of total UK cinema admissions.

Earlier this week Pearl & Dean secured the advertising rights for the Ster Century UK and Ireland cinema chain.
