LONDON - Pearl & Dean will be selling advertising on the first new-build fully digital cinema in Hull, which opens on 21 December.

Vue Entertainment has invested £5m in the cinema, which is equipped with the latest in digital projection technology. The cinema is the first of its kind in Europe.

Pearl & Dean will be offering advertising opportunities at the site as part of its national proposition as well as bespoke ad deals. In addition to on-screen advertising spots, the cinema advertising specialist will offer in-foyer activity plus other cinema advertising innovations.

The cinema sales house has also just secured an advertising campaign with Travel Alberta, the destination-marketing organisation for the province of Alberta in Canada, to attract more travellers to the region.

The new cinema ad breaks later this month and features the Alberta countryside. The ad will be shown at over 200 cinemas in London and the Home Counties.

Travel Alberta aims to attract ABC1 18 – 44 year olds to Alberta with this campaign, which will be shown before hotly anticipated films such as The Golden Compass, Sweeney Todd and I Am Legend.  The commercial is designed to tempt the desired target audience to book up their winter breaks in Alberta, rather than at other key ski destinations, by showing the fantastic ski slopes on offer.
