Guests can sample Charles Dickens’s wife’s recipe for lobster curry rissoles; the Titanic’s inaugural golden plover on toast; and Phillip Mountbatten and Princess Elizabeth’s wedding-day bombe glacée.

Event company It’s The Agency has worked with Butcher’s Hall and Cooper’s Hall to put the packages together. They aim to give an insight into the history of food and the Livery Halls by letting guests enjoy meals inspired by key eras and events from across the centuries.

Personal touches can also be added, such as tasters of snuff, pewter chargers, or genuine regency glassware.

Packages cost £95 per person, plus VAT.
