Oxfam awards website overhaul to Nykris after pitch

LONDON - Oxfam is overhauling its website and has hired Nykris after a competitive pitch to handle the redesign.

The charity plans a completely new feel for the site, with improved structure and new content.

The site, , will be launched in summer 2003.

Rachel Clay, Oxfam GB's new-media and internet manager, said: "The redesign of Oxfam.org.uk is of strategic importance to Oxfam, bringing Oxfam to life online and increasing impact. We challenged agencies to help us prepare for document and content management, manage the complexity of Oxfam's online work and strategy to provide an approach to manage a family of websites."

Oxfam uses its website for information on its campaigns as well as a tool for people to sign online petitions, make donations or sign up for email bulletins.

Philip Read, managing director of Nykris, said: "It is a pleasure and a privilege to be working with an organisation known the world over for its work to overcome poverty and suffering."

Nykris has worked for companies including Microsoft, Egg and Orange and public sector organisations including the National Gallery and the Diana, Princess of Wales Foundation.
