Outrider loses managing director

LONDON - Outrider, the WPP Group digital agency, has lost its managing director Kirsty Wilson.

It is understood that Wilson, a long-time director of the former Tempus Group agency, has left the agency without a job to go to.

According to sources at Outrider, a new management team will be appointed to run the agency, one of whom will be Brad Fairhead, who was client services director and was, prior to that, head of The Digital Edge in the UK and Europe.

Wilson's exit from the agency comes just a few months after WPP merged Outrider with The Digital Edge in April, following its acquisition of Tempus.

Since the merger, Outrider has had something of a rocky time. The agency recently lost the 拢3m account for online travel site Opodo, which went to rival Carat less than six months after winning the account.

Outrider also lost the Nationwide account to Tribal DDB, and its former managing director David Stubley, who left to set up his own sports marketing company.

Prior to the merger, Outrider made a number of redundancies in the US as Tempus cut 5% of its workforce, and its operating losses increased by 19% to 拢1m.

The overall operation will continue to be run by Rob Norman, who is the global chief executive of the Outrider group.

UK clients of Outrider include Direct Line, COI Communications, Shell and Sony Ericsson.
