Mobile phone users on the Orange network are now able to pay directly to their bills using reverse SMS.
Subscribers to Orange can make micropayments for any content by clicking a link on the screen of their WAP-enabled device, following a deal struck by the telco with payment company Bango.net.
"Content providers can start charging users to view content immediately," said Ray Anderson, chief executive of Bango.net, a member of the Orange Developers Forum.
Examples could include users paying 20p for a colour image on their phones following the deployment of GPRS services and colour mobile devices.
