Optimum Nutrition appoints WSM Sponsorship

LONDON - Optimum Nutrition (ON) has appointed WSM Sponsorship to manage its sponsorship strategy across the UK and Ireland, and to work across experiential and digital projects for the brand.

ON, which manufactures sports nutrition products, is looking at new sponsorship opportunities in the UK market as part of efforts to build the brand's profile.

The brand currently sponsors rugby sides Leinster, Ulster and the Cornish Pirates, and is also nutritional partner to sailing team Sea Dubai. It also has an affiliation with Hugh Williams-Preece, who is running 50 marathons in 50 days for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

The US brand has had a UK presence for the past few years through small distributors. In the next few weeks, it plans to set up a dedicated online sales network as part of moves to extend its reach to consumers.

Sebastian Mullin, managing director EMEA at ON, said: "WSM Sponsorship's multi- sport experience of working with brands, clubs and rights holders, means they are perfectly placed to help us develop strategic partnerships and build ON's brand profile."

WSM's current clients include Brit Insurance and MasterCard.
