O'Neill to back third series of MTV extreme sports show

LONDON - Sports and leisure brand O'Neill has renewed its pan-European sponsorship of MTV extreme sports programme 'Mono' for a third series.

The series, which includes snowboarding, street skateboarding, freestyle motorcross and BMX-ing set to urban music mixes, features some of the world's most extreme daredevil stunts.

The deal includes O'Neill on-air billboards attached to all 10 MTV 'Mono' programmes across MTV Europe's 11 regional channels as well as an O'Neill branded on-air and online competition spots giving viewers the chance to win a trip to the O'Neill Snowboard Jam in Davos, Switzerland from December.

Dave Sibley, MTV Networks Europe general manager and senior vice-president, said: "The MTV 'Mono' programme underscores a powerful dual platform marketing opportunity for O'Neill, and MTV's overall commitment to reflecting the lifestyle's of Europe's youth."

Mark Koevermans, European marketing and PR director of O'Neill, added: "This partnership conveys the strong relationship between the action sports world, its lifestyle and and music."

The series is set to air across MTV Networks Europe's 120m homes from October 28 untill February 2005.
