One of These Days had hoped to pull in an audience of 10,000 to the Winter Gardens in Blackpool, where Other festivals involved included Electric Elephant, End of The Road, Eden Sessions and Fiber Festival.

A statement on the festival’s website said: "There was an unexpected development with the structure of the business which has left us financially unable to deliver the event to the level we wanted for 2012. All the guest curators have been very supportive and there is still a lot of goodwill for the event to happen."

Agency Ear to The Ground was commissioned as a production agency for the festival. Jon Drape, live director at Ear to the Ground, told Event: "We did some early-stage costings and a number of site visits to the Winter Gardens, but we’ve not heard anything from the promoters for some time. Our job would have only really been getting started on it once they had confirmed acts."

Organisers are trying to come to a solution for 2013, and say all ticket holders can obtain a refund from the point of purchase.

One of These Days planned to host around 150 acts, but none had been announced.
