The company, owner of creative shops including TBWA\Worldwide and BBDO Worldwide, said revenue outside the US was up 21% to $967.2m (拢596m) for the three months ending June 30 2003, compared with $799.1m for the same period in 2002.
By contrast, domestic revenue at the group was up 6% to $1.2bn, taking worldwide revenue up to $2.1bn.
However, reports say the increase in foreign revenues can be attributed in part to exchange rates and does not necessarily herald an upswing in the depressed advertising markets.
Nonetheless, it has been a good start to the year for Omnicom. BBDO Worldwide was the most awarded creative agency at this year's Cannes International Advertising Festival, and DDB Worldwide was handed the worldwide advertising account for Dutch electronics giant Philips, worth $300m.
Other account wins include: the $160m Nextel work, which went to TBWA\Chiat\Day; a slice of AOL's $100m work given to BBDO New York; and the $200m Office Depot account, awarded to media agency OMD at the beginning of the year.
Omnicom, headed by chief executive John Wren, is presenting its results in New York today.
