Omnicom launches healthcare network

TBWA\WorldHealth will be a global marketing network and will harness the resources of Omnicom-owned pharmaceutical and healthcare agencies. These include Brand Architecture International, which has offices in New York, London and Dublin; LEC Advertising in the UK; Targis, based in Germany; Arsenal Targis, France; and Targis, Japan.

In the US, the network will include Lyons Lavey Nickel Swift in New York; Hyphen, New Jersey; ACCEL, New York; and 1Health Communications, Los Angeles/San Francisco. The consumer advertising brand management skills of TBWA\ will also be used.

The new network will be headed by Al Nickel, president of Lyons Lavey Nickel Swift, who takes the role of co-chairman, along with Jean-Marie Dru, chief executive of TBWA\. Healthcare clients currently handled by the agencies involved include AstraZeneca, GlaxoSmithKline and Pfizer.

Nickel said: "The beauty of what we're doing at TBWA\WorldHealth is that a client can come in any door -- through a local market, say, France, or through a very specific service, like patient recruitment for clinical trials or physician education -- and what they will find is that they are working with a team that can deliver the global scale, powerful brand management and literally hundreds of integrated services to help their brand succeed in the market."
