The advertising group said that Michael Henning and Errol Cook will join the board of directors, while Peter Foy, chairman of executive search firm Whitehead Mann, has stepped down.
Henning was deputy chairman of Ernst & Young, retiring from the accounting firm after 40 years in 2000. Cook is a retired managing director and partner of venture capitalist Warburg Pincus & Co.
John Wren, president and CEO of Omnicom, said: "With the addition of Mike and Errol, we are continuing the long-standing tradition of excellence our board has had since the formation of Omnicom in 1986. Not only do Mike and Errol have extensive finance and accounting backgrounds, but they also bring with them many years of first-hand experience with large multinational service organisations."
In June, Omnicom's share priced collapsed after a story on the front page of The Wall Street Journal questioned the company's accounting, especially the way it had handled its internet assets. This sparked a slew of class action lawsuits. However, Omnicom's auditor KPMG said in August that it was not advising its client to change the way it accounts for its internet businesses.
