
Tickets will be available for the gymnastics, tennis, basketball, road cycling, volleyball, beach volleyball, taekwondo and archery.
Locog said the extra 50,000 tickets have been made available following "the finalisation of venue seating plans".
Chris Townsend, Locog commercial director, said further tickets will be released on a near-daily basis from now until the Games.
"We encourage anyone interested in buying tickets to visit the ticketing website regularly," he said.
The Olympic ticket resale officially opened on 15 June. if unwanted tickets are sold, the customer will be notified by email then refunded within 5-10 working days, subject to them receiving the original tickets back. If their ticket remains unsold it will be returned to their account.
