Olympic Park appoints Victoria O'Byrne as chief of media

The Olympic Park Legacy Company has appointed a new chief of media and external affairs.

Victoria O’Byrne joins from the Institute for Public Policy Research, where she was a consultant, and, before that, director of external affairs.

O'Byrne will lead the company's press, public affairs and website operations, reporting to Karen Webb, executive director for marketing and comms.

She has held communications roles in and around government for more than 10 years, most recently working as special adviser to Tessa Jowell MP, responsible for the then minister's London and Olympic briefs.

O'Byrne has also been head of comms at the Government Olympic Executive at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and head of comms at Ofsted.
