Donald will join O&M London’s senior management team alongside Mick Mahoney, the chief creative officer, Charlie Rudd, the chief executive, and Kevin Chesters, the chief strategy officer.

Reporting to Mahoney, with whom she worked at Havas Worldwide London (now Havas London), Donald will look to elevate the role of production at the agency and among its clients, which include BP and Unilever.

Maggie Blundell, the head of integrated media production and the current production lead at O&M London, will report to Donald.

Before joining Google Creative Lab in 2013, Donald worked at Havas Worldwide London for five years, rising to head of operations. She has also worked as a senior producer at Mother and was the deputy head of TV at J Walter Thompson London.

Rudd said the seniority of Donald’s role reflected the increasing importance of production. He said: "If you spend time with clients, one of their frustrations is production. As an industry, we’ve got to respond with our feet; we’ve got to get ahead of clients, not follow them."
