The cash will be made available to 'emerging independent teams and individuals' who want to develop new experiences for the VR equipment.

The company announced the news alongside the launch of its new consumer Rift offering, which includes a partnership with Microsoft’s Xbox. Each redesigned headset will incorporate a wireless Xbox One controller.

Oculus also unveiled its new Touch product, a pair of tracked controllers that deliver a sensation of feeling in the VR-participant’s hands. The prototype design, dubbed Half Moon, features a pair of controllers that include an analogue thumbstick, two buttons, an analogue trigger and an input mechanism known as the hand trigger.

Oculus Touch will ship to gamers in the first half of 2016, however the brand has not yet revealed solid details for consumer pricing or release dates.
