In his new role, Oldham will be charged with evaluating the sales and marketing structure at Ocean Outdoor, including its interface with its customers, and maximising Ocean’s contractual relationships for all stakeholders.

Oldham joins the management team at Ocean Outdoor, which is chaired by former chief executive of CBS Outdoor’s international division Tom Goddard and includes managing director Grant Branfoot and sales director Iain Chapman.

Goddard said Oldham was joining Ocean Outdoor on an interim basis to look at the way the company is operating and all parties have an "open mind" as to how that goes and there is no end date for the appointment.

Prior to becoming chief operating officer at CBS Outdoor in 2006, Oldham was joint managing director at CBS Outdoor alongside Tim Bleakley. His previous media experience includes a stint as sales director at Capital Radio and, more recently, managing the outdoor advertising for London 2012 on behalf of LOCOG.

Cox founded Ocean in 2004 and will remain a significant shareholder.
