Occam wins News International data brief

LONDON - News International, owner of The Sun and the Sunday Times, has appointed Occam to support circulation, subscription and reader offers across the whole company.

Occam will help News International acquire customers, add intelligence and improve targeting. It is using its data sourcing and control tools to provide access to profiling, analysis and extraction.

Occam will also provide ongoing campaign management services. It was appointed after a competitive tender.

Chris Mitchell, head of data acquisition at News International, said: "We wanted quick access to our data. We wanted to analyse, profile and extract that data. And we wanted a solution developed extraordinarily quickly -- in just six weeks.

"Occam met the challenge head on and delivered solutions, enabling News International to start work immediately. We see this as a long-term undertaking and an ongoing relationship."
