Barack Obama has put his weight behind Reed Exhibitions’ long-running Infosecurity Europe exhibition by granting it a "Trade Fair Certification".

The award comes from the US Commercial Service of the US Department of Commerce (DOC) but has with it a letter from Obama.

"By opening new markets and promoting trade, we are creating new sales channels for US products and services," said Obama’s letter.

"The business relationships developed at this trade show will help increase economic growth and create jobs throughout the United States."

Infosecurity Europe 2011 will take place from 19 – 21 April at Earls Court. This year’s event attracted more than 12,400 attendees.

"Over the years I have seen hundreds of US companies use Infosecurity as the premier gateway to successfully launch into the European market place. As the size of their stand has grown so has the success of their European business," said Infosecurity Europe event director Claire Sellick.

"Companies often start with a small presence, and then go on to set up a small network and then go on to set up an office in the UK to manage their extensive European operations."
