The deal involves the Oasis track 'All Around the World' for an AT&T TV advertising push in the US, in a move that signals a significant U-turn by Gallagher concerning relationships between musicians and advertising.
In a vociferous interview with the NME late last year, Gallagher said: "Jack White has just written a song for Coca-Cola. End of. He ceases to be in the club. I don't believe in adverts.
"Coca-Cola man, fucking hell. And OK, you want to spread your message of peace and love, but do us all a fucking favour, I'm just not having it. It's like doing a fucking gig for McDonald's."
While this may be Oasis's first foray into advertising, the band are no stranger to marketing link-ups with big business. Toshiba was a sponsor of Oasis's most recent tour and the band endorsed its 803 MP3 mobile phone, by making concert footage and the video for 'Let There Be Love' available on a memory card sold with the model.
The AT&T advertising push is under the slogan, "your world, delivered", and has been created by its two agencies, GSD&M Advertising and Rodgers Townsend.
