Oak Furniture Land appoints first creative and media agencies

Oak Furniture Land, the hardwood furniture retailer, has appointed MNC to handle its media planning and buying, with Wordley Production Partners beating other agencies to win its creative account.

MNC, which won the £1m account without a pitch, will work on Oak Furniture Land's debut TV campaign. The spots are set to air across channels from 14 August, ahead of the bank holiday.

The furniture brand, which has eight stores and an online shop, did not previously have a media agency and all marketing was done in-house.

Oak Furniture Land claims to be the UK’s largest retailer of solid wood furniture, and features TV property presenter Phil Spencer in its online marketing.

Tabitha Penny, head of marketing at Oak Furniture Land, said: "Oak Furniture Land is currently experiencing double-digit, like-for-like sales growth and we intend to maintain this pace until our brand is firmly established as a household name."

MNC recently took over the £2m media account for Build-A-Bear from Walker Media. Other clients include Glasses Direct, Moonpig.com and Gym Box.
