O2 launches 'walk' campaign with Ed Sheeran

Ed Sheeran, the singer songwriter, follows Michael Bublé and The Gorillaz in getting his own O2 "walk" ad to promote his Wembley Stadium shows.

The ad, which was created by VCCP and shot in one take, opens with Sheeran in a set designed to look like his bedroom. He then walks through key locations from his early career until he reaches Wembley Stadium.

At the end of the spot the voiceover – provided by Sean Bean – explains that O2 Priority customers can book tickets for Sheeran’s gigs 48-hours before the general public.

The ad’s soundtrack is a new recording of Sheeran’s Don’t.

O2 is also releasing digital, online and social executions as part of its partnership with Sheeran.

The ad will first air on TV on 21 November during programmes including The X Factor, Made In Chelsea and Goggle Box.

Nina Bibby, the marketing and consumer director at O2, said: "Our new Priority campaign highlights our continuing commitment to giving customers access to the music and artists they love.

"This tour follows Ed’s four sell out shows at The O2 and we’re proud to be giving customers Priority Tickets for what is certain to be an incredible show."
