Virgin Media will offer what it has dubbed a "quadplay" service of digital TV, broadband, mobile and home phone.
To back the launch of Virgin Media the company says it will commit an additional £5m next year to improved customer care.
The merger was completed in July when NTL Telewest bought Virgin Mobile for £962m, creating one of the UK's largest broadcast and telecommunications companies.
The company's third-quarter results were issued today, showing it made an operating loss of £9.6m. Revenues were £1.02bn, up from £884.3m in the second quarter because of the addition of £140.4m revenues from Virgin Mobile.
In the third quarter of 2005, prior to the merger with Telewest, NTL's revenues were £542.2m.
Across its cable TV, phone and broadband operations the company lost 37,300 subscribers during the quarter but in broadband it gained a net 78,100 subscribers.
In September, the merged communications company offered its first "quadplay" bundle, offering customers four products for a £40 a month subscription charge.
Until the rebrand, NTL Telewest will continue to provide services under its existing brand name. Virgin Mobile will also continue as part of the new Virgin Media group.
Steve Burch, president and chief executive officer of NTL Telewest, said: "Virgin Media will shake up the market by bringing the Virgin traditions of value-for-money, brilliant customer service and innovation to the world of entertainment and communications.
"While work remains to be done between now and the rebrand, our decision to announce its name and logo today is a reflection of my confidence that we're well on the way to creating an organisation that can live up to this vision by consistently putting the consumer first."
Gordon McCallum, chief executive officer of Virgin and NTL board member, added: "Taking on the Virgin brand is about much more than a new name and logo above the door.
"NTL Telewest's management team has consistently demonstrated that it understands this and the commitment that's needed to succeed. Much has already been achieved and we're confident that the company's on track to deliver the Virgin promise when we rebrand next year."
Advertising for the Virgin Media launch will be handled by Rapier and Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R, while Manning Gottlieb OMD will handle media.
Last month, NTL Telewest signed a three-year deal with Channel 4 to make the broadcaster's programming available on demand across the cable service.
NTL Telewest subscribers are now able to watch Channel 4 content for up to seven days after it is first broadcast.
