LONDON (Brand Republic) - The advertising watchdog, the Advertising Standards Authority, has receive more than 100 complaints from NTL cable customers experiencing problems signing up to the operator鈥檚 unlimited internet access service, NTL World.
The customers, who have to submit their complaints in writing, have complained after having to wait months to sign up the service. The service was launched on April 17, but NTL admitted last month that it could take between two and three months to clear the backlog of registrations.
The ad campaign touting the service, which did not warn customers about delays, had to be pulled in June.
The number of complaints to the ASA has topped that of the Hoover campaign in 1993, when the company offered buyers of its products free flights to New York.
