NSPCC launches £50m appeal with Saatchis ad

LONDON - The NSPCC is launching a new TV ad campaign by Saatchi & Saatchi to support its Child's Voice appeal to raise funds for its helpline, which uses the strapline "Let no cry go unheard".

The charity is aiming to raise £50m over three years to support its helpines, which allow members of the public to report cases of child abuse but last year were only able to answer 80,000 of the 95,000 calls it received.

Having often struck a shocking and gloomy tone with its previous Full Stop campaign, the charity has opted for a more uplifting feel to its new ad.

The spot, which will first air tonight during 'Coronation Street' on ITV1, features butterflies fluttering around happy children - the creatures are animated and on closer inspection viewers see their wings are formed of two ears.

As the ad continues, two sad children, including a boy staring out of a window, are introduced. The ad finishes with the butterflies flying over to them and the line 'Let no cry go unheard'.

Dame Mary Marsh, director and chief executive of the NSPCC, said: "Our Full Stop 北京赛车pk10 has spurred millions of people to act in recent years. The Child's Voice Appeal is a major step forward against child cruelty and will allow us to help many more children. Every £10 donated helps us answer another call which could save a child's life."
