NSPCC to hold pitch for digital agency

The NSPCC is seeking a digital creative agency to work on promoting online brand awareness and to redesign its website, www.nspcc.org.uk.

Stephanie Hughes, the new-media manager at the NSPCC, has contacted agencies with a view to compiling an initial pitchlist and said she expects to appoint an agency in early July. The incumbent, Agency.com, will not repitch.

Hughes said: "Initially we will appoint an agency for an awareness campaign and to redesign the site but we are also looking for an ongoing relationship."

The charity has worked hard to raise its profile over the past 12 months with some hard-hitting TV executions, including "ventriloquist", directed by Danny Kleinman.

It turned to digital for the first time in September last year as part of an overhaul of its fundraising strategy that aimed to increase online donations. The appointment of itraffic (since merged into Agency.com) was the first time the charity had appointed an external digital agency.

Agency.com worked on two campaigns last year to raise awareness of the "full stop" campaign and drive site traffic.

A campaign featuring children walking across the screen with the strapline "every week at least one child is killed by a parent or carer" was a winner of the Internet Advertising Bureau's creative showcase. It also won best advertising at the Netimperative Awards and has been nominated for a Cyber Lion.
