The agency will be responsible for creating direct work for Norwich Union's insurance brands, which cover the motoring, life and home sectors. Last month, it hired Craik Jones Watson Mitchell Voelkel to its roster and retained direct agency Kitcatt Nohr Alexander Shaw to handle its Healthcare business.
It is likely that all three agencies will be briefed to handle more online marketing for Norwich Union. In a statement earlier this year, the insurer said: 'With more business being done online, it will be about making the best use of our resources and focusing on the areas in which we are seeing most growth.'
The insurance firm called the direct review amid major cost-saving measures. Last month, its owner, Aviva, confirmed that it will cut back both its Norwich Union and RAC marketing teams by 140 staff by the end of the year and reduce its marketing budget from £180m to about £100m (Marketing, 3 October).
