The nominations for the 15th Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards, which is organised by commercial radio trade body RadioCentre, were announced in central London last night.
The prize for large station of the year will go to one of Absolute Radio or Bauer Media's Hallam FM and Wave 105. Digital station of the year will be contested by Folder Media's Fun Kids, Gaydar Radio and Planet Rock.
The awards are organised by RadioCentre to recognise excellence and talent in all aspects of commercial radio from sales and marketing to technical innovation and presenting.
Andrew Harrison, chief executive of RadioCentre, said: "This year's nominations reflect the breadth and diversity that commercial radio collectively offers.
"It's often difficult, particularly for local stations, to be able to showcase their innovative programming to the wider world and the Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards are a great opportunity to allow them to be able to do just that."
The award ceremony takes place on Thursday 17 June and will be hosted by Absolute Radio's breakfast show presenter Christian O'Connell.
