NME TV launches on Freesat

IPC TV channel NME TV is now available to the 800,000 homes with Freesat, the free-to-air digital platform, as well as through a Sky subscription.

NME TV provides music charts, including the Club NME chart, as well as the latest news from the NME newsroom, video-led programming as well as exclusive interviews and footage from music acts.

Paul Cheal, publishing director of NME, said: "By joining Freesat, NME TV gains access to an important new audience across the UK, marking another exciting step in the evolution of the NME brand."

NME TV will be on Freesat channel 502 in addition to reaching the 9.77 million households with Sky on Sky channel 382.

Group. The station's TV ad sales are handled by independent sales house Dolphin TV.

At the PPA awards on Wednesday night, NME's website NME.com won Consumer Website of The Year for its "credible, effective 360-degree approach" and its "strong growth and profitability".

Last week after DX Media, who operated the station under licence from NME publishers IPC, terminated its contract.
