NME Radio staffs up ahead of launch

LONDON - DX Media has made two new appointments ahead of the launch of alternative music station NME Radio this summer.

Joanne Burlando has been appointed head of operations, having spent more than four years at Xfm as music and programme manager.

And Katie Torrie joins NME Radio as music and production manager, also from Xfm, where she was the station's main daytime producer.

NME Radio is a joint partnership between IPC Ignite music brand NME and multimedia music company DX Media.

It will be a presenter-driven 24/7 alternative music station, incorporating various music sub-genres.

DX Media is a newly formed music company founded by several high-profile music industry figures, including Sammy Jacob, the founder and creator of Xfm.
