NME produces Topman-sponsored student guide

LONDON - This week's NME includes a free 60-page student guide sponsored by Topman.

Providing information on the best clubs, pubs and shops in 60 university towns, the guide also includes words of advice for new students from TV presenter and comedian Russell Brand.

The cover star is Farris Rotter, art student and lead singer of The Horrors, who is interviewed about breaking into the music business.

The tie-up coincides with Topman's six-week 15% discount to students in stores and online, and competitions within the guide reinforce Topman's promotions.

The deal was brokered by Anna Vercoe, IPC Ignite! business development manager, and Viona Tanna-Read, Mark Hughes and Louise Tanley at Carat.

Vercoe said: "Topman is the perfect partner for this fantastic and frankly indispensable NME Student Guide. The brands are synonymous with student culture and the guide provides massive added value to NME's loyal readers."
