NME moves to Los Angeles with regular club night

LONDON - NME yesterday launched a weekly Club NME night in Los Angeles to take advantage of the popularity of indie music and of its own website across the Atlantic.

Club NME is already well established in the UK at 17 different venues including Koko in London.

Australian band The Grate played and The Charlatans' lead singer Tim Burgess, who lives in LA, and US rocker Har Mar Superstar DJed at the first event at Spaceland last night, supported by LA radio station Indie 103.1.

, the US's third most popular music news site, will support the events with a special section and a dedicated Club NME digital radio station on MyNME Radio.

In the UK, NME is planning to launch its own digital radio station on DAB, digital TV and NME.com.
