
The app, which costs £1.19 on the App Store, will provide up-to-date NME news, ticket listings, exclusive video interviews with artists and galleries of the latest and classic NME photography.
Users will also be able to tag their favourite artists and receive news alerts about them.
The weekly magazine had a high-profile redesign in April this year but suffered a , taking it down 17.3% year on year and down 12% period on period to 33,875 copies per average issue.
The launch of the app follows IPC Media's strategic review in April, when it embarked on a policy of investing more in its core multi-platform brands. IPC claims NME now reaches 1.2 million people through its different formats.
