NME and Eskimo Dance to host Boxpark Croydon festival

Boxpark Croydon is partnering with grime promoter Eskimo Dance and music brand NME to host a two-day festival at the new site in Croydon on 29-30 October.

The Saturday line up with Eskimo Dance is a who’s who of grime with Wiley, Ghetts, Novelist, Elf Kid and many more confirmed to play. The Sunday line up with NME is a roster of the best breaking talent including A2, Alfa Mist, Barney Artist, Club Kuru, Nova Twins and Tailr.Mde.Lvn announced so far. 

Boxpark is set to revolutionise the casual dining experience with the new Boxpark Croydon site set to be the biggest food and culture outlet of its kind with more than 42 traders from around the world and a capacity of 2,000 people. 

Roger Wade, director of Boxpark, said: "We are delighted to announce our Boxpark Croydon Opening Festival. We hope to make Croydon one of the most exciting London Boroughs and this is just the beginning of many events for the local community and wider areas. Expect everything from festival warm ups to organic food markets, plus daily programmed events."

Joining forces with legendary grime promoters Eskimo Dance, the brainchild of Wiley, Boxpark Croydon will open its doors to a very special event that sees a fantastic line-up of grime’s superstars

NME editor-in-chief Mike Williams said: "At NME we’re passionate about championing emerging talent, grassroots scenes and the venues that nurture and support them. Partnering on the launch of this great new music space is the perfect opportunity for us to put that support into action. It’s an exciting event, and we’re proud to be a part of it."

Boxpark Croydon will follow its successful sister site in Shoreditch, opening Croydon’s doors to more than 40 rising food and drink traders including MeatLiquor, Chilango, Mama Lan and Breakfast Club.
