Nintendo steps up direct activity through Geoff Howe

LONDON - Nintendo is to step up its direct marketing activity following the appointment of Geoff Howe Marketing Communications as its first retained agency.

The Japanese gaming giant has briefed the agency to create promotional activity for all its hardware and games, including sales promotions, consumer events, experiential marketing and brokering tie-ups with third parties.

Geoff Howe worked with Nintendo on a 12-month project basis prior to the appointment, which was made by UK head of marketing Dawn Paine.

The agency has just completed a sampling campaign for Nintendo. The company is gearing up to launch its next generation in gaming consoles, the handheld DS.
