Nike uses marathon man Tergat for toilet humour ad

LONDON –- Nike has drafted in marathon world-record holder Paul Tergat for a light-hearted online film to show how its products can help athletes avoid the type of embarrassing pit stops that Paula Radcliffe made famous during the London Marathon.

On the film, which is available at the , Tergat is seen moving around a giant virtual body to show how Nike's Sphere React jacket cuts down the amount sweat produced during cold weather, which can force the bladder to work harder and produce more urine.

The film, created by Wieden & Kennedy Amsterdam, art directed by Johan Dahlqvist and written by Joe Staples, will air online for the next six months. There is also an option for viewers to forward the ad on to friends.

Nike is considering also using the creative for TV, cinema and point-of-sale activity.

During last year's London Marathon UK athlete Radcliffe was seen stopping by the roadside where she was forced to take a toilet break in public. Despite the red face, she went on to win the event for the third time.
