Newsquest titles link with Gala Bingo

LONDON - Gala Bingo has signed up to be Newsquest's online gaming partner for a minimum of a year.

The websites for titles including The Argus in Brighton and the Daily Echo in Bournemouth will have branded channels "in association with Gala Bingo". There will also be in-paper promotions driving readers to the online game.

Chris White-Smith, Newsquest Media Sales managing director, said: "We felt that our newspapers are not necessarily known for bingo, but Gala Bingo is.

"It made sense to partner with one of the best - and we deliver the critical mass and economies of scale."

Trinity Mirror already has its own bingo game on the regional icnetwork, including icliverpool.co.uk. It is provided by Aqua Gaming, although branded as icBingo.

Last October, Gala Bingo agreed a ground-breaking £2m advertising deal with all of the major regional press sales houses, including Newsquest, Northcliffe, Amra and Mediaforce.
