The publisher's sales arm, Newsquest Media Sales, secured the year-long, six-figure deal, which will offer co-branded promotions of Simply Switch's advice service, run as display ads on news and feature pages of papers such as the Somerset County Gazette and the Wiltshire Gazette & Herald.
The publisher is also trialling direct marketing, inserts and web activity.
The Newsquest deal is understood to be Simply Switch's first long-term activity in the regional press.
Chris White-Smith, Newsquest Media Sales' managing director, said the publisher was looking for more service-led promotions to build on its established travel offers across Newsquest's portfolio.
"We're looking at financial services providers in particular, as we want to find ways of delivering savings to readers," he said.
