Schwartz, a former marketing director at L'Oreal and Sainsbury's, takes charge of all elements of News International's consumer-facing marketing and sales operation. He will work across the company's stable of titles, including The Sun, News of the World, The Times and The Sunday Times.
Meanwhile, Jones, who is joining from Carat after 18 years at the media agency, will liaise with advertisers to arrange partnerships and marketing packages. He will report directly to Paul Hayes, the managing director of News International commercial.
Others affected by the shake-up include Katie Vanneck, sales and marketing director of Times Media, who is currently interim managing director of digital and new business, and NI's head of brand marketing, Allan MacCaskill. The latter will take more responsibilities following last week's exit of Roland Agambar, head of marketing for The Sun and News of the World. He has moved to Associated News & Media as chief marketing officer.
