He will also take the role of chairman and chief executive of Digital Media Group, overseeing News Corp's digital businesses including social networking site MySpace, IGN Entertainment and Photobucket, as well as mobile entertainment arm Jamba and Hulu, through a joint venture with NBC Universal.

Miller's first task is thought to be developing MySpace as it competes in an increasingly crowded market.

News Corp's 20-year company veteran Peter Levinsohn will now become the president of new media and digital distribution at Fox Filmed Entertainment. This division controls the company's film and television content.
