The city's tourism board partnered with 360i to reveal a world without the LGBTQ community
On Fat Tuesday, the New Orleans Tourism Marketing Corporation let the good times roll—backwards. With partner agency 360i, the board staged a Mardi Gras parade put in reverse. Revelers wiped off their ornate makeup, removed their wigs and even took off their wedding bands to show what the annual celebration would look like if the LGBTQ community went back in time. Once the music stopped playing, it quickly picked up and a jubilant celebration erupted with parade marchers holding a flag that read "We Are Never Going Back." The 90-second film will be released digitally on social media and video platforms to communicate the message that the diverse city of New Orleans is "always open."
